1. Failure to Return to Battery:

After around 200 rounds have been fired through the rifle, several shooters have had this problem. They have experienced roughly 3 failures to return to the battery over this time.

The thumb was then required to finish the process. The use of 115 gn rounds causes this problem.

The Fix:

Attempt to polish the feed pump. It really does make a difference. To insert the slide into the battery, push it with your thumb as well. Try firing with lower-powered ammo. It solves the problem.

Lubricate the recoil spring assembly, wear areas within the slide where it meets the barrel during cycling, the whole outside of the barrel, and each side of the slide rail where it rides on the frame steel tabs, those steel frame tabs.

2. Magazine Issue:

The problem is with a specific HK 15-round (with-sleeve) magazine meant to be used with the sk pistols.

The VP9sk has a problem where the magazine won’t lock the slide open. The slide won’t stay open after a number of gentle and harsh rackings.

The Fix:

The 10- and 13-round magazines functioned fine. Stretch the 15-round magazine’s spring as well. It looks to be useful. If you get in touch with HK, they might send a new one.

After using the pistol for a while, it will be corrected. In general, it doesn’t cause too many issues. However, HK would unquestionably replace it with a new one if the situation worsened.

3. Slide Release Stiff:

As right-handed shooters, shooters nowadays struggle to release the slide lock. When it is on the slide release, they have to press down with their left thumbs while using their right thumbs as support.

Even then, it occasionally lacks sufficient force. However, the problem is still there with or without the magazine.

The Fix:

Call HK and ask them to look at it. Instead of attempting to ship it yourself, send it in through a gun store to save money on shipping. They will fix the issue.

The spring should surely be shot out. It wouldn’t hurt to lock it up at night for a bit. Slide out and place empty magazines. Similar to how you would slide on, thumb down the release with the side of your thumb.

4. Takedown Issues:

Those who have VP9sk for a certain period of time have had a trouble being disassembled (field-stripped) ever since it was new. It won’t completely disintegrate.

When the battery is about 1/8 of the way in, it stops and locks up. It simply freezes and won’t proceed. Any downward force or pressure will not be able to remove the slide.

The Fix:

Maintain parallel thumbs to the frame. See if you can keep your thumbs a little bit further away from the frame by adjusting the grip. To make the take down lever more comfortable, place something over it.

Use a small amount of grip tape to cover the takedown and push downward while providing traction for the thumb.

5. Slide lock Issue:

When it was first taken to the range, the slide regularly stopped locking back after firing close to 500 rounds. Then, regardless of whether a magazine was loaded or not, it begins to discharge.

Even when held on the bottom of the grip, it continues to lock back, and even after using a new slide lock, the problem may worsen.

The Fix:

Tell H&K’s customer service about the issues. The problem at hand is the spring. The old spring is to blame for this issue. The spring needs to be changed, and that will cure the issue.

If you grasp the gun firmly enough, cycling the slide shouldn’t be a problem unless you’re shooting purple box Federals. See if you can improve your thumb by practising it.

In other ways, the HK vp9sk is unquestionably a great pistol. The trigger on the gun is excellent, it’s simple to take short follow-up shots, and it’s not overly speedy. For a little gun, it is quite precise.

In addition to its metal body, it also features night vision that is useful for self-defense. The cold hammer forged barrel are very durable. The HK vp9sk is great for concealed carry because of its outstanding accuracy according to a YouTuber.

This handgun is perfect as a concealed carry choice. But, it has some drawbacks, such as a round capacity that falls short of what is ideal given what is currently on the market, but it is still a fantastic firearm as per MDpolo Gun channel.
